Our Microbial Solutions team in Charleston, SC is looking for a Project Manager, Business Technology. 

This role can be located in Charleston, SC or remote role with up to 25% travel to the Charleston site to attend business critical meetings.

 

Job Summary


The Business Technology team (BT) designs, deploys, and supports the business technology architecture and hardware/software applications for Microbial Solutions. This includes Cloud (AWS and Azure), e-commerce and enterprise applications (SAP and Salesforce).
 

The Business Technology (BT) Project Manager who will serve as a strong contributor within the Microbial Solutions business unit to drive teams from idea to Go-Live.  The BT Project Manager will provide leadership and support for the design, development, refinement, and implementation of projects, along with risk mitigation and contingency planning.  This individual will work cross-functionally with Business Analyst, Software Engineering, Global Technology, Quality, Operations, Regulatory, Sales, Marketing, and external partners.  Scope of work could include new technologies, inter-divisional projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and business continuity projects.  The BT Project Manager will manage stakeholder communications by providing updates on project status, leading gate reviews, and proposing scope changes and/or mitigations when necessary. 


Roles and Responsibilities


• Leads cross-functional teams and facilitates on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones.
• Interface with and monitor Microbial Solutions’ projects led by Global Technology Team.
• Facilitates the scheduling and planning across multiple functional areas, coordinating internal and external development and test resources, and working with resource managers and other project managers to ensure proper staffing, project alignment and integration.
• Owns the responsibility for the definition and clear communication of project priorities, delivery of project expectations, and identifying and mitigating issues and risks.
• Drives the vision and goals for the overall team, keeping members engaged by creating a positive environment through coaching, encouragement, and recognition while striving for accountability within self and others.
• Implements new business, operational, or system-based functionality processes. Leverages technology to drive a data-driven and risk-based approach to communicating progress, risks, and achievements within the programs. 
• Facilitates transition of solutions from project team to the support team through company-defined processes.
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary environment consisting of Business Analyst, Software Engineering, Global Technology, Quality, Operations, Regulatory, Sales, Marketing, and external partners. 
• Drives change in company culture and support strategy by effective project management.

 

Job Qualifications

 

 


Education 
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent preferred. 

 

Experience
• Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience  in Project Management or project leadership role required; Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile or Scrum Master Certification, or similar is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in project initiation, planning, execution, release, closing, and risk management and Product Lifecycle Management (i.e., stage-gate) is preferred.
• Experience working with an IT Team. 

 

Skills and Abilities
• Proven ability to lead multiple teams, partner with management and lead indirect resources.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Proven communication skills both written and verbal.
• Proficient with MS Office Programs, including MS Project or similar project management software.
• Strong conflict resolution skill set and critical thinking skills.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Sound business and technical acumen.


Compensation Data
The pay range for this position is $90-110K  USD. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
