Job Summary

At Charles River Microbial Solutions in Charleston, SC you will become a Finance team member with input on various activities that span the globe. You will support the Finance Manager and work collaboratively with the Finance Team for forecasting process improvements, reporting improvements, presentation support, financial systems innovation, project work and accounting support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Actively participate in all forecasting processes (Long Range Strategic Plan, Annual Budget and Quarterly Forecast), owning subsets of the forecasting processes and partnering with organizations to provide analytical support and enhance decision making recommendations, with focus on profitability analysis.
•Aid in developing and maintaining a Long-Range Financial Plan for total Microbial Solutions working closely with the Global Commercial Team and Global Finance Team.
•Innovation: Play a critical role in evaluating product initiatives and developing business plans to drive growth.
•Be a key member in the Integrated Business Planning process to create efficiency and synergy throughout Microbial linking the Operation and Commercial teams.
•Analyze global profitability across all brands and communicate results to the Executive team to drive decisions and expansions.
•Support existing reporting of Sales, Research & Development, and Operations metrics (including sales forecasting and pricing, new product financials, and manufacturing and sales KPIs) related to month end/quarter end activities or ad-hoc requests; interact with Finance and non-Finance counterparts to interpret results and support decision making process.
•Provide support and perform recurring, targeted analysis for quarterly review of Microbial Solutions financial performance and update executive review presentations and support (Quarterly Business Review, Board of Directors Review).
•Participate in cross-functional teams focused on project implementation and process improvement (Research & Development, Supply Chain, and others).
•Financial Systems: Streamline existing reporting and help develop additional reporting framework as needed. Support UAT for Corporate System Innovation projects and liaise with the Microbial finance team on adoption and addressing pain points.

Job Qualifications

•Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in Accounting or Finance or related discipline.
•Experience: Zero to four years of relevant experience.
•An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
•Certification: None required
•Other: Excellent Excel spreadsheet and other Microsoft Office skills required, Willingness to learn and willing to take on additional responsibilities as the business grows.
