Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for identifying trends, periodically analyzing equipment/machine problems, performing necessary adjustments on manufacturing equipment, identifying root causes, and initiating corrective actions as needed. This position interacts with Operators, Operations Technicians, Specialized Technicians, Manufacturing Engineers and Leadership

Principal Responsibilities (*denotes essential functions as defined by ADA)

  • Coordinate efforts between operations and engineering functions
  • Set up spare parts, optimize preventative maintenance, keep process parameters updated
  • Identify best practices and create standards combining available information & knowledge
  • Follow plant safety and environmental policies and keep work areas clean and orderly
  • Utilize plant systems e.g. SAP, MES, OPCON, Promaster, Tableau, etc.
  • Utilize International Production Network from other Bosch resources where necessary
  • Trouble-shooting equipment-related electrical issues

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • Minimum two years of experience in manufacturing assembly or machining
  • Mechatronics training preferred
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, print-reading and mechanics
  • Electrical/electronics background, working with PLCs, drive systems, cabinets, etc.
  • Ability to service and maintain production robotic systems
  • Familiarity with CNC machines (drives, axes, etc.)
  • Knowledge of SAP work order/spare parts system
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with supervision and other personnel with the ability to create clear technical instructions
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel)
  • Must be able to function in a noisy and fast paced environment
  • Demonstrates self-initiative
  • Must demonstrate mechanical proficiency, leadership ability, and teamwork
  • Must be willing to work on alternate shifts and must demonstrate the ability to adapt to changes
  • Must be flexible to work other shifts for training, coaching, projects and travel as needed

Specialized Knowledge

  • Detailed knowledge of Staubli and Omron robots, vision systems, Trumpf lasers, and Profibus
  • Rexroth Torque System knowledge/troubleshooting
  • Cab printer knowledge
  • Cognex Vision System knowledge
  • NeuroCheck Vision System knowledge
  • Press/Staking Process knowledge
  • Knowledge of heat treat or chroming operations is a plus
