Member Services/ Cashiering Assistant GC

POSITION SUMMARY

To provide efficient and effective support services to our Member Services department within Berkeley Electric Cooperative, Inc.

Internships will typically last from May through August depending on applicant availability.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive payments by cash, check, and credit cards.
• Post payments accurately to member's account; issue the proper amount of change back to member.
• Greet members entering office establishment and direct them to the appropriate member service representative.
• All duties as assigned within the parameters of all applicable federal, state, and local labor and safety laws and/or regulations.
• All positions are required to participate in weekly group meetings with other interns. May involve special assignments and field trips.

EDUCATION

• Must be a high school senior or enrolled in a university or college program.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must have good general office and computer skills, be detail-oriented, reliable, efficient, conscientious, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must have organizational skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong ability to multitask.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively and in a friendly and personable manner with employees and the public.
• Promptness is extremely important. Must be a team player.

WORKING CONDITIONS

General office setting. Mostly sitting at desk. Some lifting, bending, and stooping.
