The Logistics & Tool Room Technician supports daily operations by assisting the Tool Room Coordinator, maintaining the yard, and ensuring timely delivery of materials, equipment, and supplies to active job sites. This position requires a dependable, organized individual who can manage a balance of tool room support, facility upkeep, and field logistics to keep projects running smoothly.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:- Support the Tool Room Coordinator with daily operations, tool tracking, and inventory management.
- Pick up, transport, and deliver materials, tools, and equipment to various job sites.
- Assist in managing tool room operations, including issuing, tracking, and returning tools.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain organized storage of tools, equipment, and consumables.
- Perform basic inspections and routine maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Maintain yard organization, including material storage, cleanliness, and general upkeep.
- Perform yard maintenance tasks such as trash removal, sweeping, pressure washing, and seasonal grounds care.
- Purchase approved supplies and materials using a company-issued P-Card and maintain receipts for office recordkeeping.
- Coordinate with supervisors and vendors to meet material and tool needs.
- Accurately document tool checkouts, returns, and field deliveries.
- Respond to urgent supply requests and assist with logistical challenges.
- Ensure compliance with company safety and operational standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements to Perform Work

- High School diploma or equivalent preferred; classes will be offered to those interested in pursuing a diploma;
- Six (6) months of experience in a related field;
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license for South Carolina with safe driving record;
- Split between tool room/yard responsibilities and frequent travel to local job sites.
- Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability to changing priorities.
- Exposure to outdoor job sites, yard work, and construction conditions.
- Departmental testing may be administered during interview.
- A criminal background check will be completed on selected applicant if a current one (less than 3 years old) is not on file.
- This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to read and write.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic knowledge of receipt tracking, recordkeeping, or purchasing procedures preferred.
- Previous experience in logistics, warehouse operations, yard maintenance, or construction support preferred.
- Ability to operate small hand tools and equipment.
- Ability to manage inventory and property.
- Ability to use or repair small and medium equipment and machinery.
Physical Demands
This position requires the employee to reach, pull and push with hands and arms; stand; use hands to handle, feel, finger, grasp or operate objects, tools or controls; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use mental acuity and repetitive motion; and walk, talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ninety-five (95) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Conditions
The work is regularly performed in an environment with heavy equipment and machinery that could result in bodily harm to co-workers or others. Normal working hours are Monday through Wednesday from 6:30am until 4:30pm and Thursday from 6:30am until 4:00pm with the ability to work after hours when necessary. Scheduled hours/days, job location, duties and any other information contained herein is subject to change. May be required to work extra hours and to perform extra or different duties during emergency situations.
