Atlas Technologies, a rapidly expanding company supporting the US Military and other Government entities, is seeking a passionate, flexible, highly motivated team player to join our group of Information Technology professionals. We are seeking a motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented Subject Matter Expert in Charleston SC to assist our Navy customer in supporting Naval Messaging systems. If you have a strong Navy messaging/comms background reinforced with Linux and network troubleshooting skills, come join our team. This is an onsite position with regular travel.
You Will:
- Provide In-Service Engineering Agent remote and on-site technical support to troubleshoot reported hardware/software issues on all SMS/TMS systems, AN/SYQ-26(V)7, AN/SYQ-26A(V)2, 3, 5.
- Perform System Operation Verification Testing (SOVT) of Tactical Message System [AN/SYQ-26(V)7] installations.
- Install and configure NAVMACS II 3.x software on all SMS/TMS systems.
- Teach system administrators and users through both formal (classroom-based) and informal (on-the-job) training sessions.
- Troubleshoot basic layer-2 and layer-3 network connectivity.
- Validate SMTP communication, including Microsoft Exchange Send/Receive Connectors and PKI signing/encrypting.
- Validate circuit operations, including basic troubleshooting of devices along the entire communication path.
You Have:
- US Citizenship
- Possession of or the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret Level Security Clearance
- Strong customer relations, documentation and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated and detail oriented, with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality
- Able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to travel 20% of the time to possibly include underway aboard USN/USCG/MSC vessels.
- 5+ years’ proven experience directly related to essential duties.
- Ability to work independently with no supervision to solve complex problems.
- Currently hold at least ONE security related certification (Security+, CISSP, etc.) PLUS one OS related certification (Linux+, CCNA, etc.). If not held, qualified candidates must be able to obtain first certification within six months.
- Working knowledge of Linux shell commands
- Working knowledge of US Navy communications systems (UHF DAMA, HF/UHF TTY)
- Working knowledge of basic layer-2 and layer-3 network technologies and troubleshooting methods
- Working knowledge of EIA-530 and RS-232 protocols
- Working knowledge of MS Exchange, SMTP, and PKI
- Working knowledge of Naval messaging formats (ACP 126, 127, & 128-modified) and procedures
- Working Knowledge of Consolidated Afloat Network Enterprise (CANES)
- Highly desired: Experience with Radiant Mercury
