Atlas Technologies, a rapidly expanding company supporting the US Military and other Government entities, is seeking a passionate, flexible, highly motivated Operations Manager to join our group of Information Technology professionals. If you are comfortable in intense fast paced environments, can think on your feet, and excel in team-based collaborative efforts, then this may be the right fit for you.

Pay Band: $95,000-$155,000

Travel: Up to 20%

You Will:

  • Support the government IPT lead (NIWC) and the senior leadership team in daily operations.
  • Focus on managing internal operations within the IPT and streamlining processes and procedures ensuring the IPT meets all key internal deadlines on reporting, data calls, etc.
  • Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes. Work closely with technical experts/project leads to ensure timely completion of deliverables with focus on meeting project commitments and quality control.
  • Represent multiple cross-functional and shared service teams to the IPT Leadership group, ensuring you are championing their challenges to drive quick resolutions.
  • Define, communicate, and deliver on project milestones, deliverables, and service levels
  • Expert in Problem Framing and driving solutions towards results.
  • Mentor and foster professional growth and development of team members
  • Participate in key meetings regarding new business opportunities and assist in opportunity evaluations and proposal efforts
  • Oversee a variety of teams, synergizing them to mission success
  • Practice, instill, and implement Atlas' core values, vision, and goals to maximize the contribution to the company's key product and service offerings
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and demonstrate a mature project management approach in managing technology projects
  • Work with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their issues, and/or exceed their expectations
  • Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for staff members required for specific projects or initiatives.

You Have:

  • US Citizenship
  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance
  • Have a high-level understanding of how government contracting is executed.
  • Experience with requirements gathering and creating requirements traceability matrices or functional requirements documents.
  • Work directly for the IPT Lead to assist in managing daily operations.
  • Continual development of procedures and products ensuring the IPT is well poised to efficiently operate.
  • Provide management and leadership to various teams through training, communication, feedback and regular interaction with team members.
  • Make observations of and communicate business risks and opportunities to the IPT Lead.
  • Assists and/or provides solutions to project problems.
  • Experience with POAMs, the creation of, and more so being able to analyze to effect change where/when needed.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and strategic thinking ability
  • Minimum 5+years’ project management experience within DoD/DHS contracting environment, managing risk, cost, schedule, and performance.
  • 8-10 years’ experience serving as a team lead or in a leadership position coordinating tasking with a multitude of team members.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and DoD procurement policies and procedures.
  • Experience seeing a project through to completion from requirements to deployment and experience working with customers
  • Expertise within Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentations.
  • Strong financial mind; expertise in developing and managing complex budgets.
  • Experience with process improvement and process mapping.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, preferred. Other and non- degree are acceptable with commensurate experience
  • Min. eight (8) years’ experience leading and growing a highly technical workforce
  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (exceptions made for experience or degree)

We'd Be Impressed If You Had:

  • A Master's degree or equivalent experience
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with US Coast Guard and/or US Navy projects and programs
  • In depth technical knowledge on US Navy or USCG C5I Systems.
