Position Summary
The Vendor Relations & Sourcing Manager is responsible for managing Allegiance Flag Supply’s network of domestic suppliers to ensure consistent quality, reliability, and performance across all production materials. This role develops and maintains supplier agreements, drives communication cadence, identifies alternate and new sources, and partners cross-functionally to support new product development and cost optimization.
The ideal candidate combines strong relationship management skills with sourcing and contractual experience and thrives in a fast-growing, hands-on manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Vendor Management and Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all external vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain a regular communication schedule to review performance, delivery, and quality metrics.
- Track supplier performance, pricing, and lead-time adherence.
- Identify risks or supply interruptions and develop proactive mitigation plans.
Contracts and Documentation
- Draft, negotiate, and manage Master Purchase Agreements and supporting supplier documentation.
- Ensure all vendor files, certifications, and compliance documentation remain current.
- Partner with Legal and Finance to maintain contract accuracy and audit readiness.
Sourcing and Cost Optimization
- Identify, vet, and qualify new suppliers to support redundancy and capacity expansion.
- Collaborate with Product Development to source materials and components for new product initiatives.
- Conduct cost analyses and market benchmarking to support pricing and supplier selection decisions.
- Recommend and implement improvements that reduce material costs, freight expenses, and lead times.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations, Inventory Management, and Production Planning to align vendor performance with material requirements.
- Support Product Development by ensuring new materials meet quality and production readiness standards.
- Communicate supplier changes or risks to leadership in a timely and actionable manner.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in vendor management, sourcing, or procurement, ideally within manufacturing or consumer products.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to draft, implement, and manage supplier contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong follow-through.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; ERP system experience required (Xorosoft or similar preferred).
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Performance Indicators
- Consistent supplier communication and documented performance tracking.
- Execution of Master Purchase Agreements with all core vendors.
- Development of alternate suppliers for key materials.
- Reduced material lead times and improved supplier reliability.
- Successful sourcing support for all new product initiatives.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office and light manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment and occasionally visits vendor or production sites.
